A new much shorter format of cricket has caught the attention of the fans - the T10 format. The match is supposed to last 120 minutes. There has been a successful tournament that has shown just how well-liked the format is - the Abu Dhabi T10 League. In an attempt to mirror its success, the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) also wants to organise its own T10 league. If everything goes according to plan, this new league will start on December 7.
Additionally, big-named international cricket players are also expected to take part in the Qatar T10 League. Indian superstar Yuvraj Singh is one of the names that would likely play together with Mohammad Hafeez, Kamran Akmal, Angelo Matthews among others. Currently, there are a total of 73 players who will play. Of those, 17 are from Qatar while 24 are from Associated nations.
When the league does take place, six teams will battle it out for ultimate glory. Pearl Gladiators, Flying Oryx, Desert Riders, Swift Gallopers, Falcon Hunter, and Heat Stormers are the teams which will look to pick the best players available for the competition. These six teams will face each other in a league stage before the top four teams face each other in the semi-finals.
