Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammed Hafeez praises team win over England
“Everyone was believing we could do this. We were playing good cricket but not winning crucial stages of the game,” praised Pakistan all-rounder Mohammed Hafeez for everyone’s effort in winning their second ICC Cricket World Cup match against England by 14 runs last Monday.
“Everyone chipped in today and gave everything which was required to win the game. We needed one winning performance and then everyone contributed accordingly. It was a total team effort. It is a very happy dressing room,” he continued.
Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed also praised the team and specially mentioned all-rounder and leg-spinner Shadab Khan’s efforts in starting the game.
“It was a great team effort. Bowlers bowled really well. We tried a couple of different things. We started with Shadab (Khan) because we know their openers are not good against spin,” said Ahmed. “Fielding is a very important part. In the last ODI series it was different. Today we feel better and we bowl better.”
Pakistan will play their third game against Sri Lanka on Friday at Bristol County Ground. Because of this smashing win, Pakistan is sure to have better odds when they play against Sri Lanka.
