The all-rounder, Rumana Ahmed will make a comeback to the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming 2020 T20 World Cup.
Rumana Ahmed suffered a knee injury which caused her to miss out on a number of games while she recovered.
The captain of the team, Salma Khatun was ecstatic for the return of her teammate, Ahmed. Khatun believes that her return will bring strength to the team for the upcoming T20 tournament.
Khatun said in an interview, ‘Naturally her (Rumana) return is a huge thing for us. She is a proven cricketer for us and her experience will be immensely valuable to the team because in this kind of tournament you got to hold your nerves’.
A total of thirteen players from the 2018 edition of the tournament will return to the squad. Bangladesh made their run to the Qualifier title, last summer in Scotland.
The T20 squad is composed of captain, Salma Khatun, Rumana Ahmed (vice-captain), Jahanara Alam, Shamima Sultana, Murshida Khatun, Ayesha Rahman, Nigar Sultana, Sanjida Islam, Khadija Tul Kubra, Panna Ghosh, Fargana Haque, Nahida Akter, Fahima Khatun, Ritu Moni and Sobhana Mostary.
