All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan achieved 1000 World Cup runs milestone

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan became the top scorer of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after their match against Afghanistan on Monday. He also scored 1,000 World Cup runs when he reached 35 off his 51-run knock in their match.

Al Hasan registered as the 19th batsman to reach the milestone and as the first Bangladeshi cricket player to achieve it. The cricket players who got this milestone were 5 Sri Lankan, 3 Australians, 3 South Africans, 3 West Indians, 2 Indians, 1 Pakistani, and 1 New Zealander.

Al Hasan has played 27 international matches in four World Cups from 2007 to 2019 before he achieved the milestone. Additionally, he is the second highest one-day international (ODI) run scorer in Bangladesh after batsman Tamim Iqbal.

Bangladesh will play next against India on July 2 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground. The Tigers currently have +7550 odds to win the entire tournament.
