The Test captain admits that the loss against Australia was more than just a disappointing loss for him and the rest of the team.
Following Pakistan’s disappointing loss against Australia in their previous Test series, Pakistan Test captain Azhar Ali admits that their performance in the series was unacceptable and has hurt the pride of Pakistan Cricket.
David Warner and Australia outplayed Ali’s squad as they swept the two-match series. It seemed that Pakistan did not even manage to put up a fight as the hosts did not have a problem in whooping the latter.
The Shaheens arrived in Australia with a new captain, a newly-revamped squad, and a new head coach. The team was keen to end their losing streak at the Down Under, as the team dropped their last 12 Tests when they played in Australia.
It was no different than the previous Tests as Australia whooped the visitors in two matches. Ali’s side could not find any other way to answer back against the team that dominated them for so long.
The team’s loss meant that they are yet to book their tickets in the ongoing inaugural World Test Championship. The team has the chance to come back with a fresh momentum though, as the team is set to play Sri Lanka on December 11th.
