In preparation for IPL 2020, former Zimbabwean captain Andy Flower becomes the newly appointed assistant coach of the Kings XI Punjab.
As the IPL 2020 draws near, the teams are having preparations for the prestigious league tournaments for the IPL championship. With that, the Kings XI Punjab had appointed the well-experienced Andy Flower to be the team’s assistant coach for this season.
Flower had replaced Sunil Joshi who was newly appointed to be the chairman of the senior men’s national side. As the new assistant coach, Flower will work hand in hand with former Men in Blue captain Anil Kumble to coach the team.
This coaching experience for Flower is a new one for him as he had never worked for the IPL before. Flower’s past coaching experience with England had indeed proved his capabilities of leading a team well. In fact, he was the one who helped England win their first ICC trophy in 2010. Aside from that, he was the team coach when the English team dominated the ICC Test rankings.
The new Kings XI Punjab coach shared in an interview how he is truly excited for this season’s IPL. He also stated how he thinks that the team has a fantastic lineup.
