Arthur vows to remind the Shaheens of the cornered tigers spirit
Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur said that he wants to remind his team of the cornered tigers spirit after their defeat against India last Sunday. This “cornered tigers” spirit was created as a mantra by former all-rounder Imran Khan to his team which allowed them to win the 1992 ICC Cricket World Cup.
“We can’t change the past but can influence the future and I will definitely remind my players of the spirit of ‘cornered tigers’,” said Arthur. “I will do everything I can and using all my experience to make this happen.”
“I love this team. I love Pakistan so I will definitely use all my experience to inspire this team,” continued Arthur. “We are extremely disappointed with the defeat, but we have to put it behind us and stand together and come back strong.”
Pakistan’s next match will be against South Africa at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The Shaheens currently have +5700 odds to win the World Cup.
