Ashok Dinda Will Leave Bengal

Ashok Dinda says that he is ready to move on from Bengal and that he will no longer play for them in the 2020-21 season.

Bengal’s leading wicket-taker Ashok Dinda has revealed that he will no longer play for the team after he had been dropped off from the squad. This is also after he had been suspended by Cricket Association of Bengal midway last season after he had been caught up in a fight with bowling coach Ranadeb Bose.

Dinda has been considered as Bengal’s leading wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy as he had bagged a total of 339 wickets in 90 matches. All these were held in the 14 seasons where Dinda had played for the team. However, he had already made up his mind with his decision because of the team’s current coaching staff.

Dinda says, ‘I will not be part of Bengal any more, that's for sure. It was a decision I had taken last season only. It's my personal matter. I'm mentally strong and nobody can break me. I will play for some other state. I've got a few offers and discussions are on. But I'm yet to finalise which state I'm going to represent next season’.

‘I'm not happy playing here with this group of coaching staff. The way I was treated, I've nothing to say. I've done the job for them and now I'm of no use. It's a selfish world. I'll definitely miss the home state, 100 per cent, having played for so many years. I also missed them last year. But I'm in good terms with my former team-mates’, he added.

Bengal is one of the playing teams under the Ranji Trophy tournament. The said tournament is governed by the BCCI along with the Indian Premier League. To know more about the IPL, head over to Betwala.
