Indian Cricket Team players rose from their previous spot in the rankings
Indian Cricket Team’s fast bowler Ravichandran Ashwin earned the 10th spot in the bowlers’ rankings. He was previously in the 14th spot. Ashwin claimed eight wickets during the first Test match against South Africa in Visakhapatnam. He also achieved a new record as he became the joint-fastest bowler after taking 350 wickets in 66 Test matches.
Team captain Virat Kohli remained behind Australian batsman Steve Smith. Test opener Rohit Sharma ranked high in the 17th place in the Test rankings for batsmen. He struck two centuries in the match. His partner in the opening, Mayank Agarwal also climbed at the 25th spot from his previous 38th place. He scored his first century in Test cricket.
Right-handed fast bowler Mohammed Shami earned the 16th spot where he was previously holding the 18th spot. In the first Test, he collected a five-wicket haul in the second innings. His score also helped the team to dismiss South Africa in the 2nd innings.
