Cricket Australia has postponed their three T20I matches against the West Indies which was supposed to take place in October.
Both Cricket Australia and Cricket West Indies have mutually decided to postpone their series which was scheduled on the first week of October. Originally, the three matches of the said series were supposed to be held at Townsville, Cairns, and the Gold Coast respectively.
The postponement of the said T20I series between the two teams happened after the T20 World Cup had been postponed. This is mainly because of the fact that the said series was supposed to be held as a warm-up match prior to the main event which was the T20 World Cup.
In a statement released by CA, they said, ‘In light of this development, and given the preference to host the warm-up three-match T20 series against the West Indies to coincide with the rescheduled T20 World Cup in Australia (which will take place in either 2021 or 2022), it has been agreed to postpone the matches’.
As the series gets postponed, both the members of Australia and the West Indies can play on the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League where some of their players participate as foreign players. To learn more about the said league, visit Betwala.
