Babar Azam scored his 14th test half-century when he scored 69 runs during their rainy first day Test match against England.
The opening day of the Pakistan tour of England 2020 has been marred by the heavy rains in Manchester. Despite the rain and the fact that only 49 overs could have been bowled, Pakistani player Babar Azam’s performance shined as he garnered a total of 69 runs in the game.
Azam’s performance contributed a lot to Pakistan’s score of 139/2*. The total number of runs which he scored did well especially with his partnership with Shan Masood who had 46 runs. All in all, the partnership of the two pulled off an impressive count of 96 runs for the third wicket.
However, their impressive stint had been cut short as the rain poured down and caused a three-hour delay in the game. With that, the day had been wrapped up for 7.5 overs and with Azam scoring a total of 69 not out and Pakistan with a total of 139 for two.
So far, weather predictions say that the second day for the Test match will have better weather condition compared to the first day. For the second day of the first Test match at Old Trafford, the odds are -140.85 for England and +106 for Pakistan. To see the latest updates on cricket odds, check out Betwala.
