The Tigers team beat their previous total ODI record with 330/6
Bangladesh team registered their best total one-day international (ODI) record after beating South Africa in their first match yesterday with 330 for six.
Left-handed batsman Tamim Iqbal and all-rounder Soumya Sarkar started the match with an 80-run stand. They were immediately won over by South Africa in the ninth over when Proteas bowler Andile Phehlukwayo had dismissed Iqbal.
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim took over by achieving a 142-run together after reading the danger of Proteas’ short pitch approach.
After Al Hasan and Rahim smashed through South Africa’s batting, Proteas all-rounder Chris Morris and bowler Kagiso Rabada failed to show their skills because they gave away needless boundaries on several occasions.
Bangladesh won their match against Proteas yesterday by 21 runs. They will be playing their second match for ICC Cricket World Cup on Wednesday against New Zealand at The Oval.
