On February 7, the Test series between Bangladesh and Pakistan began and the hosting team is currently on the lead.
The first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan began last Friday, February 7. Pakistan won the toss and elected themselves to bowl.
Bangladesh’s Abu Jayed gave the team a head start after taking out Babar Azam on the second ball. Babar had an unbeaten 143 before he attempted to guide a length ball straight to first slip and was unsuccessful to increase his overnight score.
Pakistan’s Asad Shafiq could’ve made his half-century to a higher score, however, Ebadot Hossain took him out in the 96th over.
Jayed and Hossain aced the match and constantly tested the hosting team with their impressive performance. By the end of the third day for the first Test match, Bangladesh’s trail is at 86 runs.
However, what seemed to be a good fightback from the visiting team was halted after Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Taijul Islam and Mahmadullah were out in a three-way effort. In a positive note, Mominul Haque was able to score an unbeaten 37.
Bangladesh’s opener, Tamim Iqbal said that they have themselves to blame for hastily going down on Pakistan. Iqbal said, ‘It's not ideal. I thought we were in a good position but the shots we played were not great shots. We have only ourselves to blame. There is nothing, there are no excuses. I think we did not apply ourselves’.
