The match will take place in the Eden Gardens
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has accepted the BCCI’s request to play the Kolkota Test under floodlights. With this, the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkota will be the first-ever venue to host a day-night Test in India. This is part of the Bangladesh tour of India and will take place for the entire month of November. There will be three T20Is and two Tests that will be played between the two nations.
Newly-elected BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that the day-night Tests are the new norm when playing Test matches. He met with Virat Kohli to discuss the matter and said that the captain agreed to play with the pink ball.
At first, there were doubts about the BCB accepting the request. However, after a short consultation with the players and their management, an agreement had been settled and the decision was set.
The second Test of the tour is set to take place on November 22 and is expected to be watched by social elites, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
