The players selected played for the NCL in order to be eligible for the criteria
The Bangladesh Cricket Board picked the players for the Twenty20 International series against India. In order to be selected, the players must play in the National Cricket League (NCL). The players selected will be part of the 15-man squad. Shakib Al Hasan will lead the team, followed by Arafat Sunny and seamer Al-Amin Hossain.
‘We have picked Arafat as he is bowling quite consistently in the domestic arena. We already have Shakib (Al Hasan) but we need someone who has the experience of playing the shorter format’, BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin said.
‘Al Amin was picked as we have seen there is some grass on the Indian wickets. In the recent past, he had improved his fitness to quite an extent and he is one of the few bowlers who can bowl with the seam up and we have seen that pacers who are bowling with the seam up are quite successful in India’, he added.
Meanwhile, two players, namely Soumya Sakar and Tamim Iqbal will return to play against India. Soumya was dropped during the tri-series while Iqbal suffered an injury during the NCL.
The Bangladesh Cricket Team’s tour of India will begin on November 3 in Delhi. Odds for the upcoming match will be available soon. Check out the latest cricket odds on Betwala.
