Abdur Razzak is being offered a post in the selection panel of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
BCB is currently looking for a third member for their selection panel after Faruque Ahmed left his post. With that, BCCI chairman of cricket operations Akram Khan shared that they approached Abdur Razzak to offer him the vacant position.
As per Khan, ‘Razzak is taking time as he is playing in the DPL. We are not sure whether he wants to prolong his career or not’.
In a separate interview, Razzak confirmed that he had received the offer when he said, ‘Yes they have contacted me but I wanted some time to decide. I have told them that I will let them know after the Dhaka Premier League matches. Now as the league is postponed, I can think about this now. I have to leave cricket for this new job and it is not an easy decision for me because I am living in cricket for a long time. I have to take time to decide so that later I don’t have any regret whatsoever’.
Aside from Abdur Razzak, Shahriar Nafees and Manjurul Islam are also being eyed for the position but none of them had been contacted yet.
The left-arm spinner has represented Bangladesh in a total of 200 international matches where he had scored 1072 runs and had claimed 278 wickets. Currently, Razzak is featured in the Dhaka Premier League which was temporarily postponed amid the COVID-19 outbreak. To learn more about the importance of sports leagues, check out Betwala.
