The skipper violated the terms and conditions of the board after signing a deal with a telecom company
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to take legal action against skipper Shakib Al Hasan. The skipper violated the terms and conditions of the board after making a deal with Grameenphone, a telecom company.
‘He cannot make this agreement (with a telecom company) and why he cannot make this agreement is clearly stated in our contract paper’, BCB president Nazmul Hasan said.
‘We are going into legal action. We cannot spare anyone in this regard. We will ask for compensation. We will seek compensation from the company as well as from the player’, he added.
The president said that he has sent legal notice to the company to claim compensation. He also sent a letter to Shakib Al Hasan for an explanation. If Al Hasan fails to provide a reply, they will take legal action against him.
BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said he’s unaware about the skipper’s deal with the telecom company. They don’t encourage players to sign with brands that can have a conflict with their sponsors. The board also have a rule that a player must take permission from the board before making a deal with a brand.
Shakib Al Hasan will lead the Bangladesh Cricket Team for the upcoming tour in India. They are set to play the first T20I match against the Men in Blue on November 3. Odds of the upcoming match will be available soon. Check out the latest cricket odds on Betwala.
