The BCCI selection committee will select players who will play in the upcoming home series
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) selection committee is scheduled to have a meeting tomorrow, October 24. They will select the players who will form the T20I and Test squad for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh.
Aside from the player selection, they will decide whether team captain Virat Kohli will take part in the T20I series. Kohli has been playing for the team since the ICC Cricket World Cup. There had been speculations that he is likely to be rested then he will play for the Test series.
‘Team selection for upcoming series against Bangladesh is to be held on October 24’, a BCCI source said.
‘This meeting will be crucial as its happening right after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BCCI. Captain Virat Kohli who is playing continuously will be given rest or not is still a question because as of now there is no confirmation from the selection panel. Also, Sourav Ganguly is likely to meet Kohli on the sidelines of the meeting’, the source added.
Earlier, Bangladesh cricketers decided to boycott the upcoming cricketing activities due to their ongoing strike. They were demanding pay hike and the return of the franchise-based Bangladesh Premier League.
