Australia can expect more bouncers from Archer
The second Test match at Lord's was the Jofra Archer's Test debut in international cricket. During the match, one of Archer's bouncers hit Steve Smith on the neck, knocking the batsman to the ground. Smith continued to play after he was cleared by medical staff. The Aussie batsman showed signs of concussion after the Lord's Test so it is now unclear if he will still play in the third Test of the series.
England's Ben Stokes says that Jofra's bouncers are an asset to the team. Stokes continued to say that England will not let up in the future matches of the series. 'When someone takes a nasty blow, no bowler is going to say "I'm not going to bowl that again because I don't want to hit them again". The concern is always there when someone takes it but next ball, when you get back to the mark, it's "I'm going to keep doing it"', Stokes continued.
The third Test match of the Ashes series starts on August 22. It will be held at the Headingley in Leeds. England is the champions of the recent ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The team faced New Zealand in the finals match of the tournament.
The Ashes 2019 series is the first match between England and Australia following their Cricket World Cup semi-finals match that England won. The World Cup is played in ODI formate while the Ashes is played in Test cricket format. Know more about the ICC Cricket World Cup at Betwala.
