Bumrah says the Men in Blue are ready for the World Cup semi-finals
India right-arm fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah said the team has a good ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 campaign because everyone is in their top shape.
“Everybody’s had a good run here. It’s been a good campaign for us,” said Bumrah. “Everybody has chipped in with wickets and with the bat. There’s a healthy competition.”
“It’s a good headache to have when everyone’s performing and everyone’s in good nick and that’s something you love to have going into a crucial game like next week’s semi-final,” continued Bumrah.”
Bumrah stated he focuses more on what he can do for the team rather than the praise or criticism he receives. This comes after Bumrah became the second fastest Indian bowler to get 100 one-day international (ODI) wickets in their previous match against Sri Lanka on July 6.
“I don’t take praise or criticism seriously. The only focus for me is on my preparation, my execution and what I can do for the team,” said Bumrah. “You see Hardik Pandya taking wickets, you see Mohammad Shami taking wickets and I’ve also taken wickets, so that’s the positive for us going forward.”
India’s first semi-final match is against New Zealand tomorrow at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. The Men in Blue have -278 to win the game while the Kiwis have +230 odds.
