Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has picked a CoA panel-rejected fitness trainer to help him recover from the injury that kept him out of multiple series.
Jasprit Bumrah is expected to fully recover from his stress fracture ahead of Team India’s New Zealand tour as he is making good progress in his recovery.
The young pacer sustained a stress fracture last September and has missed the team’s win in their last T20I with South Africa. He did not play in the team’s record-breaking Test win over Bangladesh.
He went to England after that and had successful surgery but has missed a lot of series since. Bumrah has been training with Rajnikanth Sivagananam, who is also the strength and fitness trainer of the Delhi Capitals.
The latter was rejected by the Cricket Committee of Administrators back in August for the post of Strength and Conditioning Coach. He is now the consultant of the Delhi-based team but is also working with other players in the country.
Bumrah’s return to the lineup will be really vital for the Men in Blue in their tour to New Zealand next year, which is scheduled by January 24th. It will be followed by three ODIs and two Tests. He will not play in the team’s next T20I and ODI against the West Indies.
The team expects to have the speedster back by that time. He will be a key bowler for the Indian team that has been going on a hot ride for some time now. Captain Virat Kohli will need all the help he can get if the team is to continue winning big matches.
