Cassell Is The New Fast Bowling Coach Of Rajasthan Royals

Cassell leaves his role as the assistant coach of Ireland and replaces Steffan Jones as the new fast bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals.

Rob Cassell, a former Australian fast bowler and Ireland’s assistant coach is appointed as the new fast bowling coach of the Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).

‘We are delighted to have Rob Cassell on board as the new fast bowling coach for the upcoming IPL season. We have a great relationship from our days at Victoria together. I have followed his career closely and he is someone who has done the hard yards as a fast bowling coach in his career to date’, Andrew McDonald stated, Rajasthan Royals’ head coach.

Cassell started his coaching career in 2017 with the South Australia Redbacks and the Ireland National Cricket Team. He has also played in nine first-class and four List A match series from 2002 to 2011. ‘I am really excited at the prospect of working with the Rajasthan Royals during this year's Indian Premier League. The Royals have a great fast bowling set-up with a good mix of Indian and foreign pacers, all of whom bring a lot of quality and potential. I have been following the Royals from afar for quite some time, and I think this is a dynamic, exciting and highly competitive fast bowling line up. I am therefore really excited to chip in with my ideas and help maximize this team's abilities’, Cassell stated.

The upcoming series of IPL is scheduled between March 29 and May 24 in which the opening match will happen between the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. To learn more about IPL and other sports leagues, check out Betwala’s page.
