Children were invited ahead of upcoming Pakistan and Bangladesh match
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) that owns Lord’s Cricket Ground invited 250 children to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match of Pakistan and Bangladesh on Friday.
MCC chief executive Guy Lavender stated the pavilion sold less than 50 percent of tickets for the match. He continued that MCC did not want a repeat of the ICC Women’s World Cup Final in 2017 where only the stands were packed.
“Members may recall the ICC Women’s World Cup Final in 2017, when unfavourable comparisons were made between the number of members in the pavilion and full stands in the rest of the ground,” said Lavender. “This is damaging to MCC’s global reputation and the committee is determined to avoid a repetition of these images on Friday.”
Pakistan currently have -189 odds to win the game while Bangladesh have +160 odds. If you want to know how the World Cup works and the teams that are competing, you can check out Betwala’s article.
