Gloucestershire team captain Chris Dent will stay with his team after he has signed a new three-year contract.
After leading Gloucester to promotion to Division One of the County Championship last year, Chris Dent has decided to extend his stay with the team. After signing a new three-year contract with Gloucestershire, he is guaranteed to stay with the team up until the 2023 season.
Dent shared his thoughts about the contract extension when he said, ‘I'm extremely excited to have signed a new three-year extension with the club. I love playing for Gloucestershire and I think we've got a great squad who can do great things in the coming years, so it's fantastic to be extending my time here’.
Dent also shared how he remains hopeful that they’ll be able to get out on the field this year in order to see their fans at the Bristol County Ground. He also shared how they are putting up a great lineup for their future games.
With regards to Dent’s contract extension, Gloucestershire head coach Richard Dawson says, ‘It is fantastic news that Chris has signed a contract extension at Gloucestershire. He has improved year on year to become a high-class top-order batsman and a vital and well-respected member of the club, having come through the academy system’.
Dent had his debut with Gloucestershire in 2010 after he had signed his contract the year before. By 2018, he took over the captaincy and won the county’s Batsman of the Year award. He also well contributed to the promotion of the team last year as he had scored over 1000 runs.
