Craig McMillan will work as the batting consultant of Bangladesh on their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
Following the resignation of Neil McKenzie, former New Zealand player Craig McMillan has been appointed to be the batting consultant for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka. However, as the BCB had stated, McMillan will only be working for the team on the said tour.
Supposedly, McKenzie will coach the team on the Sri Lankan tour but he had backed out, citing family reasons as the cause of his resignation. So far, BCB is still looking for a permanent batting coach that can work with the team.
With regards to McMillan’s coaching experience, he has already served as New Zealand’s batting coach from 2014 up to 2019. After then, he took a role with the Kings XI Punjab of the Indian Premier League. Aside from that, he also shares a coaching experience with Canterbury and Middlesex in the past.
The Bangladesh team is slated to fly towards Sri Lanka on September in order to complete the mandatory quarantine period before starting their training. There, they will play a total of three Test matches against Sri Lanka starting on October 24. To understand how Test matches are played, head over to Betwala.
