The Delhi Capitals had confirmed that their assistant physiotherapist has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Delhi Capitals are now the third team to have reported a positive COVID-19 case in their camp. As the franchise had reported, their physiotherapist who had tested positive had travelled independently to UAE. Despite turning in two negative results from the prior tests on his first and third day of arrival, the tests conducted on his sixth day turned out to be positive.
The official statement of the team said, ‘He was yet to meet with, and had not been in contact with any players or staff of the franchise. He was isolated immediately, and is currently at the IPL Isolation Facility in Dubai for the next 14 days, at the end of which he will have to produce two negative reports for him to be able to join the Delhi Capitals squad. The franchise's medical team is in constant touch with him, and wishes him a speedy recovery’.
Other COVID-19 cases seen on other franchises were Rajasthan Royals’ fielding coach and thirteen members of the Chennai Super Kings which included two members and 11 staff members. Gladly, all of those had already recovered and were already allowed to go back to rejoin their teams.
