Delhi Capitals team bus attacked, FIR registered against miscreants by Mumbai Police

The Mumbai police have filed an FIR against four people who presumably vandalised the parked luxury team bus of the Delhi Capitals, outside the Hotel Taj Palace.

Mumbai cops on Wednesday said that an FIR has been registered at the Colaba Police Station, against four people for allegedly attacking the parked Delhi Capitals team bus. Four people including the vice president of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's transport wing, Prashant Gandhi were kept in official custody by the Colaba police for the wrongdoing. Hunt for one more person is in progress.

ANI wrote in its tweet "An FIR has been registered against 5-6 unknown persons under sections 143,147,149,427 of IPC for allegedly attacking the Delhi Capital IPL team parked bus, police said.” Meanwhile, the police beefed up security around the hotel where the Delhi Capitals players are putting up.

Last week, the Delhi-based franchise unveiled their new jersey for the upcoming edition of the tournament, which seemingly is a better version from what they sported in the last season. Video of the unveiling of the new jersey was shared on social media which featured their captain Rishabh Pant, fast bowler Anrich Nortje and newcomer David Warner, flaunting the new jersey.

The franchise has a mix of both young and experienced players for the upcoming edition, who will be keen to take the side to its first-ever title. They acquired David Warner at only Rs 6.25 crore in the auction, which could turn out to be their trump card this season.

The first match for the Delhi Capitals will be played against five-time champions Mumbai Indians on 27th March, at Mumbai’s Brabourne stadium. IPL 2022 features 10 teams and is going to kick-start on March 26th with the first game to be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and runners-up of last year, the Kolkata Knight Riders.
