Dottin and Kirby complete the 15-member squad of Windies for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
With the captaincy of Stefanie Taylor, Deandra Dottin and Lee-Ann Kirby will join in the upcoming T20 World Cup with the West Indies.
Dottin was not able to join the squad for almost a year after she sustained a shoulder injury last February 2019. To join the upcoming series, Dottin underwent corrective surgery and subsequent rehabilitation.
On the other hand, Kirby will have her cricket comeback after 12 years, she was last seen during the T20I series way back in July 2008. ‘Lee Ann Kirby returns to the team after an extended absence but she has shown herself to be a prolific scorer’, Anne Browne-John stated, West Indies women's chief selector.
Squad: Stafanie Taylor, Aaliyah Alleyne, Shemaine Campbelle, Shamilia Connell, Britney Cooper, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Cherry-Ann Fraser, Sheneta Grimmond, Chinelle Henry, Lee-Ann Kirby, Hayley Matthews, Anisa Mohammed, Chedean Nation, Shakera Selman
Ahead of the tournament, West Indies and Pakistan will take on in three warm-up matches in Brisbane. The Women's T20 World Cup campaign of the Windies will officially start on February 22 against Thailand, Pakistan, England, and South Africa.
