With a total of 105 runs, Emmanuel Bawa leads Zimbabwe into a sweet victory against Canada at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Zimbabwe dominated the game against Canada at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup by 95 runs. This became Canada’s third consecutive loss at the said event.
The Zimbabwean team did not have a great start but was able to stand right back on their feet after 16-year-old Emmanuel Bawa scored a century. Bawa scored a total of 105 runs which consisted of 13 impressive fours.
Bawa’s century picked up the team as they seemed to be in trouble at 54 for 5. Batting at No. 7, Bawa made everyone impressed with his century that immediately brought back hope for the Zimbabwean cricket fans. Indeed, he gave his team an impressive number of runs that made Canada struggle in the end.
Aside from Emmanuel Bawa’s century, Gareth Chirawu and Taurayi Tugwete also contributed to their team’s victory by adding half-centuries each. Overall, Zimbabwe scored a total of 271 runs against Canada’s 176.
With the victory that they achieved, the Zimbabwean cricket team automatically advances to the Plate semi-final against England.
