The three-match T20 series between England and South Africa will start tomorrow at the Buffalo Park in South Africa.
The 2020 England tour of South Africa includes 4 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The Test series wrapped up last month which resulted in a victory for the visiting team after an overall of 2-1.
Then, ODIs just wrapped up last Sunday in a draw of 1-1. Now, the first match for the final T20I series will happen tomorrow.
England’s pace bowlers were seen in the middle of training as they prepare for the upcoming series against the Proteas. The most accurate was Saqib Mahmood, followed by Tom Curran.
Mark Wood took a number of balls before he hit the target. He is known for his impressive spells in quick bowling. Wood is not only quick but can also hit the deck strongly and move the ball in the air and out of the pitch.
Wood has also been in good shape after picking up 12 scalps in the Test series last month. He was ruled out to rest during the ODI series against the Proteas. Now, he is back in the squad for the final series.
Wood said, ‘It is still a batter's game. Look, I bowl at a good pace and look to get wickets and that is my role in the team. So that is what I would probably be interested if I get selected, to make a difference and get a key wicket when needed. It is the role that Moggie (Eoin Morgan) has asked me to play and I hope I can continue to do well’.
The England T20 squad is composed of captain, Eoin Morgan and teammates, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Butler, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Chris Jordan, Saqib Mahmood, Dawid Malan, Matthew Parkinson, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes and Mark Wood.
England (-185.19) will meet South Africa (+156) in the field tomorrow to commence the final series of the tour.
