Du Plessis and Van der Dussen Recalled for India ODIs

Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen return to the South African squad as part of the playing lineup against India.

After taking a break during the series against Australia, South African cricket fans will once again see former captain Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen play for the team. The South African team had already released their lineup for the upcoming ODI series against India and it included the two aforementioned players.

It was in the same period when du Plessis took a break from the England and Australian tour that he had transferred his captaincy towards Quinton de Kock. Van der Dussen, on the other hand, played against England and rested during the tour against Australia.

While the two batsmen were out of the team, Heinrich Klaasen had his first ODI century and had secured himself a spot in the upcoming ODI series against the Men in Blue. Debutant Kyle Verreynne, on the other hand, made an impressive contribution to the team when he took three catches and scored 48 which helped them win the first ODI against the Aussies. He also earned himself a spot in the upcoming series. Meanwhile, some players like Janneman Malan were left out from the lineup.

The South African team will wrap up the series against Australia on Saturday. Afterwards, the team will prepare for their upcoming ODI matches against India which will start on March 12. To further understand the ODI format, visit Betwala.
