Sri Lanka whitewashed Pakistan in the T20I series
The Sri Lanka Cricket Team won in the final T20I match against Pakistan held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. They whitewashed the home team, leading 3-0. Sri Lanka declared a score of 147 for 7, defeating Pakistan by 13 runs.
In this intense match, leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga collected three wickets in two overs. He also caught one of Pakistan’s key players, Imad Wasim. Before Hasaranga rescued the team, Haris Sohail scored a 52 while Babar Azam scored 27.
T20I debutant Oshanda Fernando scored an unbeaten 78 off 48 balls (not out). He also shared partnership with skipper Dasun Shanaka. The duo stitched a 76-run stand where he scored 12 runs.
Sri Lanka restricted the home team to 134-6. Pakistan needs to score 54 runs off the last five overs with eight wickets. However, they failed to save themselves from facing defeat from the visitors.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Team’s tour of Pakistan began on September 27 with three ODI matches. They failed to win one of the matches. However, they managed to rise in the T20I series. Sri Lanka is scheduled to tour the United Arab Emirates on December to play two Test matches with Pakistan.
