Mohammed Hafeez said they do not fear their game against Australia
Pakistan batsman Mohammed Hafeez said that all ten teams in the ICC Cricket World Cup can be beaten in an interview with AP on Sunday.
“If you look at England they were playing top-cricket and people were thinking it would be hard to beat them,” said Hafeez. “But all teams are beatable...if you talk of our next opponent (Australia) they are also playing very good cricket but they too can be defeated.”
Hafeez admitted that his team did not have a good record against Australia but he believes they have a chance after they won against England by 14 runs.
“The best thing about the England win was that everyone contributed. Even Hasan Ali, who didn’t get a wicket, but his last three overs were good and brought us back.”
He continued that they had changed their game tactics after losing their first game against West Indies.
“I think we realised that we played a very bad game and we gave confidence to each other and convinced each other that we can win and that positive thinking helped bring the change,” said Hafeez.
Pakistan will play against Australia today at County Ground, Taunton. They currently ahave odds of +210 of winning the match while Australia have -256.
