Bangladesh’s reserve opening batsman will not play in the team’s pink-ball Test against India in Kolkata.
Saif Hassan has been ruled out of Bangladesh’s second Test against India in the Eden Gardens with a hand injury. No details were given regarding the extent of the batsman’s injury.
The 21-year-old was supposed to make his debut in the historic pink-ball Test in their day-night match against the Men in Blue. They have lost the opening match in the series and are hoping to tie the series by stealing a win.
Hassan accidentally split his finger webbing during the first Test in Indore. He was on 12th man fielding duty when he suffered the injury. Two days after the match, his split-finger webbing has not healed yet.
Bangladesh Cricket Board released a statement regarding Saif’s injury. The team remains optimistic that the batsman will come back stronger from his injury. He will be given enough time to ensure a full recovery.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh will have to face India without one of their reserves. They might be undermanned right now, but they will have to do a lot of work if they are planning to win the upcoming match and tie the series.
India and Bangladesh are set to square off in the final match of their Test series tomorrow. India has a -5000 on the betting odds, while Bangladesh has 1600. Stay tuned in the latest cricket odds in this series with Betwala.
