Hassan injured his hamstring during their match against Pakistan
Afghanistan fast bowler Hamid Hassan injured his hamstring in his last few one-day international (ODI) matches at the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup game against Pakistan on June 29. Pakistan won the match by 3 wickets.
“Of course I was looking forward to winning the game for the team. I was playing my last ODI and in a very good mood,” said Hassan. “I bowled very well in the first over and wanted to keep going but I feel like it’s something broken inside of my hamstring. I was very excited and pumped up.”
“I felt very emotional because the team missed me a lot and the ball was also reversing. The situation would have changed,” continued Hassan who will end his ODI career after the World Cup.
Afghanistan will play their last World Cup match against West Indies on Thursday at Headingley Carnegie.
