The ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier Rounds start in six weeks
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup next year is one of the most-awaited cricket events. Australia hosts the event which will kick start on October 18 and will continue until November 15 next year. The full members of the ICC are already set to play in the tournament. These are the top ten cricket teams in the world.
The T20 World Qualifier will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The ICC released the schedule for the Qualifier rounds. A total of 14 countries will play in the Qualifier rounds and the six winning countries will participate in next year’s T20 World Cup.
The 14 countries will be split into two groups of seven. Group A will play in Dubai while Group B will play in Abu Dhabi. The T20 World Qualifier will feature a total of 51 matches. ICC Head of Events Chris Tetley is happy to announce the schedule of the Qualifier rounds. ‘On behalf of the ICC, I wish all participating teams the very best and look forward to seeing some compelling and competitive cricket that showcases the quality of the game worldwide’, Tetley stated.
Four matches will be played in the opening day of the World T20 Qualifier. The countries that will play on October 18 are:
