The ODI series between India and New Zealand wrapped up yesterday with the hosting team winning by 5 wickets.
For the first time in 13 years, India was whitewashed in a series of three or more matches. The result of the series has come as a surprise especially due to the domination of the Men in Blue in most matches.
It was in 2006 that the India cricket team last experienced a whitewash, after losing against South Africa with an overall of 4-0.
Yesterday, New Zealand proved that they can beat the inevitable and won all three matches in the ODI series against India. It was a reversal of situation after India whitewashed New Zealand in the T20 series last month.
Despite the absence of the captain, Kane Williamson in the first two ODI matches, the Kiwi team was still able to bring home victory.
The Men in Blue had their shortcomings, especially since the trio -- Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli -- is the typical source for impressive scores. Unfortunately, both Sharma and Dhawan sustained injuries, while Kohli is observed to be out of his element.
The two teams are set to face each other once again for a Test series that will start on February 21. If you want the most accurate cricket odds, check out the Betwala page.
