Kumar could miss next three World Cup games due to hamstring injury
India captain Virat Kohli said that bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar could miss up to three ICC Cricket World Cup games because Kumar had injured his hamstring.
Kumar suffered the injury when he opened the bowling for his team in their match against Pakistan last Sunday. He only managed to stay up to 2.4 overs before he sat out the rest of the match at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
“Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a slight niggle, he slipped on the footmarks,” said Kohli in an interview with Sky Sports. “It doesn’t look too serious and hopefully he will be ready in a few games, the maximum is three games.”
“We are not too worried,” added Kohli.
India will be playing next against Afghanistan at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground. The Men in Blue currently have +180 odds of winning the World Cup.
