The BCCI has announced that the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League will most likely be held in UAE.
As the Men’s T20 World Cup became officially postponed, then there is a greater chance for the IPL to push through. With that, the BCCI is eyeing to resume the season in UAE instead of India. Still, the board is still awaiting confirmation from the local government of UAE.
As per IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, ‘We have written to the government seeking permission to host the tournament in UAE. The dates have not been finalised as yet and will be decided at the (next) IPL GC, which will be held in the next seven or ten days’.
Should the UAE government approve, the IPL may see some changes prior to the first plan that the season’s resumption is held on September 26. Upon the approval of the IPL’s permit, then the season may kick-off as early as September 19.
Aside from that, the games may also be held earlier than its usual time slot as it is one of the conditions which were brought forth by UAE. Instead of the games being played late in the evening, the games may now be held at 7:30 PM IST or 6:00 PM in UAE’s local time.
Originally, the IPL was to be held on March 2020 but was postponed due to COVID-19. To learn more about the IPL, head over to Betwala’s page about the said league. Aside from that, you may also check out some amazing July deals from Bitcasino.io!
