New franchise Gujarat Titans have registered their second win in a row after defeating Delhi Capitals by 14 runs. Batting first, the Titans put up 171 runs on the board.
While Matthew Wade was dismissed for a duck, his opening partner Shubman Gill scored 84 off 46 balls that was laced with six boundaries and four maximums. Next batsman Vijay Shankar wasted a few balls, scoring a slow paced 13 off 20 balls. Captain Hardik Pandya was also slow with a 27-ball 31. David Miller remained unbeaten on 20 off 15 while Rahul Tewatia chipped in with 14 off 8.
At the end of 20 overs, the Titans managed 171 for 6, mainly on the back of Gill’s knock. Their bowlers, however, did a wonderful job to defend the target. Apart from Delhi captain Rishabh Pant who scored 43 off 29, the contribution made by the other batsmen was insignificant.
Lockie Ferguson was the pick of the bowlers. He scalped four wickets at a reasonable economy of 7 runs per over. Mohammad Shami picked up another two wickets, while Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan picked up one each.
For Delhi, Mustafizur Rahman was the best bowler. The pacer took three wickets for 23 runs in four overs and was well assisted by Khaleel Ahmed, who picked two wickets for 34 runs.
