Probable XI for both the teams
Punjab Kings: Mayank Agarwal (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, Bhanuka Rajapaksa (wk), Odean Smith, Shahrukh Khan, Harpreet Brar, Rishi Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Chahar
Chennai Super Kings: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (wk), Ravindra Jadeja (c), Shivam Dube, Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius, Chris Jordan, Rajvardhan Hangargekar
Two players to watch out for from both teams
PBKS – Shikhar Dhawan and Odean Smith
Shikhar Dhawan has not been at his best in the two games played so far, but is still the biggest asset Punjab have at the top of the order. The southpaw is overall the second-highest run-getter in IPL history and is expected to get back to runs sooner than later.
Odean Smith is another player Punjab will bank upon for runs. The West Indian scored an unbeaten 25 off just 8 balls at a strike rate of 312 in his team’s season opener.
CSK – Shivam Dube and Moeen Ali
Against the Lucknow Super Giants, all-rounder Shivam Dube missed out on a half century by just one run. He scored 49 off 30 and will be looking to get to the fifty in the next game. Dube can be a match-winner with the bat and we saw this in a few of his previous IPL innings.
Moeen Ali, meanwhile, brings years of international and IPL experience to the table. He scored 35 off 22 in the last game and will be looking to convert the start into a bigger knock in the next game.
Who will win the match between CSK and PBKS?
On paper, the Punjab Kings are one of the strongest teams this IPL season. They have a lot of power hitters in their ranks, but their bowling looks a bit weak. Chennai, on the other hand, have fared poorly in both the batting and bowling department so far. Going simply by how the two teams have performed in their first two respective games, Punjab should be able to win this one.
