KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants beat Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals by six wickets in match 15 of the IPL 2022.
Batting first, Delhi put up a poor performance with the bat, managing only 149 runs in their 20 overs. Prithvi Shaw top scored with a knock of 61 off 34 balls at a strike rate of almost 180. David Warner, playing his first game of the season, was dismissed for just four runs while Rovman Powell could muster just three runs. Captain Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan remained unbeaten on 39 and 36 each, but both of their knocks came at a poor strike rate. While Pant, who otherwise is a big hitting batsman, took 36 balls to score 39 runs, Sarfaraz took 28 balls to score 36.
Krishnappa Gowtham was among the economical bowlers for Lucknow. He conceded only 23 runs in four overs while also picking up a wicket. Ravi Bishnoi was also economical with 22 runs in four overs with two wickets. Avesh Khan and Andrew Tye had an off day with an economy of 10.67 and 9.33 respectively.
Chasing 150 to win, Lucknow got over the line in 19.4 overs. Quinton de Kock was the standout performer with a knock of 80 which came off 52 balls. Ayush Badoni, meanwhile, finished the game with an unbeaten 10 off just three balls.
For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets while Lalit Yadav and Shardul Thakur picked up one each.
