Lucknow Super Giants beat the Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in match 26 of IPL 2022. This is the sixth straight loss for the five-time champions.
Batting first, Lucknow posted a big total of 199 runs on the board. Captain KL Rahul scored half of his team’s total number of runs, remaining unbeaten on 103 off just 60 deliveries. Quinton de Kock scored 24 off 13, while Manish Pandey chipped in with a slow paced 38.

Chasing 200 to win, Mumbai got off to a poor start, losing both their openers in quick succession. Dewald Brevis scored 31 off 13, and Suryakumar Yadav got 37 off 27, but none of the other batsmen could score more than 26 runs as Mumbai eventually failed to cross the line.
Avesh Khan was Lucknow’s wrecker-in-chief with three wickets for 30 runs in his four overs.
This was a special game for the Lucknow skipper as it he got a century on his 100th IPL appearance. "It's a special day (1ooth IPL match) and a special hundred. I wasn't among the runs but the pitch was good and I made the most of it," Rahul said after the match. "We have played well, we need to be humble and keep learning. The team is brilliant and I enjoy spending time with them, creating a team that was comfortable was something we looked for in the auction," he added.
