IPL 2022 Match 31: LSG vs RCB preview

Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, two teams with the same number of points, will play each other in match 31 of IPL 2922 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Both the teams have won four of their six games but LSG are placed one position higher in the points table than RCB due to a better net run rate.

Lucknow come into this game after defeating Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in their previous game. Batting first, the KL Rahul led side put up a total of 199 in their 20 overs with the skipper scoring an unbeaten century. With the ball, Avesh Khan picked up three wickets to help defend the total.

Bangalore, on the other hand, come into this game after beating Delhi Capitals comprehensively. Half-centuries by Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik helped them post a total of 189, which was defended on the back of Josh Hazlewood's three wickets.

Once again, all eyes will be on KL Rahul who scored an unbeaten ton in the last game. For RCB, the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik and Harshal Patel will be the ones to watch out for.

Both the teams look strong on paper and it is thus difficult to predict the outcome of the game. But winning the toss and opting to bowl first may play a bit of a role in deciding the winner.

Predicted XI

Lucknow Super Giants: KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Manish Pandey, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Faf du Plessis (c), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Suyash Prabhudessai, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel and Josh Hazlewood.
