The Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 wickets in match 36 of IPL 2022.
Batting first, RCB registered the lowest score of IPL 2022. They were bundled out for just 68 runs before they could even complete the 20 overs. Eight of their batsmen scored in single digits while the only two to score in double digits were Glenn Maxwell and Suyash Prabhudessai.
For Hyderabad, Marco Jansen and T Natarajan picked up three wickets each while Jagadeesan Suchith chipped in with two. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik picked up the remaining two wickets.
Chasing 69, the Sunrisers wrapped up the game in 8 overs. Opener Abhishek Sharma top scored with 47 runs.
Despite the horror show from RCB, their captain Faf du Plessis said in the post-match conference that the team does not need to panic.
"You want to make sure you don't get a lot emotional, it was a bad day at the office, but you need to keep your chin up and need to get the learning from it. As a team we need to move forward, it's a long tournament," du Plessis said.
RCB’s net run rate has taken a heavy beating after this game and they have now slumped to the fourth spot in the points table. SRH, meanwhile, jumped to the second spot after winning their fifth consecutive game.
