Lucknow Super Giants, who have performed fairly decent in the tournament so far, will take on a winless Mumbai Indians in match 37 of IPL 2022.
The KL Rahul-led side is currently fifth in the points table after winning four of seven games. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have lost all their seven games and are sitting right at the bottom of the points table. Some of their biggest names have disappointed, especially the likes of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma. Even if the Mumbai Indians win the remaining of their matches, their chances of qualifying for the playoffs are too dim.
The match will be played at the Wankhede stadium where the smaller boundaries help the batsmen. Lucknow’s batting department looks stronger than that of Mumbai and if the LSG batters make the most of the pitch conditions, MI could be in for another loss unless the big players step up. The team is currently too dependent on Suryakumar Yadav, who is their leading run scorer with 232 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 153.64.
This is the second time the two teams are meeting this season. In their opening fixture, LSG bagged an easy win.
