The unstoppable Gujarat Titans registered yet another win this season after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets.
Batting first RCB put up a total of 170 runs on the board with their former captain Virat Kohli finally finding his form back and scoring his first 50 of the season.
Along with Kohli with Rajat Patidar also scored a half-century while all-rounder Glenn Maxwell hit 33 runs of 18 balls. Batting at number seven, Mahipal Lomror scored a quickfire 8 ball 16 at a strike rate of 200.
Eventually RCB posted a total of 170 in their 20 overs, and for a batting lineup as strong as that of the Gujarat team, a total of 170 was always going to be insufficient.
For the Titans, Pradeep Sangwan picked up two wickets while the likes of Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph, Rashid Khan and Lockie Ferguson pick up a wicket each. Chasing 171 to win, the Titans wrapped up the game in 19.3 overs.
Opener Wriddhiman Saha, playing his third game of the season in place of Matthew Wade, was once again among runs, scoring 29 of 22. His opening partner Shubman Gill also contributed with a knock of 31 runs.
Captain Hardik Pandya had a rare off day, being dismissed on only three runs. But David Miller and Rahul Tewatia remained unbeaten to take the Gujarat team over the line. Miller remained unbeaten on 39 at the strike rate of 162 while Tewatia scored 43 off 25.
For Bangalore, Shahbaz Ahmed and Wanindu Hasaranga picked up two wickets each.
With that win, Gujarat continue to remain at the top of the points table while RCB have slumped to the sixth spot.
