Arch rivals Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will take on each other in match 59 of the IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium. Even though both the teams have performed poorly this season, this clash is still a highly anticipated one.
When the two rivals met earlier this tournament, the Super Kings won by three wickets. Batting first, Mumbai Indians put up only 155 runs in 20 overs as the uncapped pacer Mukesh Chaudhary picked up three wickets for just 19 runs in three overs. CSK made the chase look more difficult than it should have been, before eventually winning it in the last ball of the game. Ambati Rayudu and Robin Uthappa were the two batsmen who contributed to the win.
CSK will be without Ravindra Jadeja, who has flown back home due to an injury. While the franchise has confirmed that the all-rounders return home is due to an injury, there have been suspicions about a fallout between CSK and Jadeja.
Mumbai, on the other hand, will be without Suryakumar Yadav, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to an injury.
Since the game is at the Wankhede stadium, we can expect another high scoring encounter in which pacers will also have a say. Mumbai have already been eliminated from the race to the playoffs but CSK need to win all their remaining league games by big margins to stand a chance to make the knockouts.
