IPL 2022 Match 63: LSG vs RR preview

Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals will square off against each other in match 63 of IPL 2022. If Lucknow win this game, they will become the second team to book a spot in the playoffs after the Gujarat Titans. They come into this game on the back of a humiliating defeat at hands of Gujarat Titans and will be looking to find their rhythm back.

The Royals, on the other hand, have a good chance to make the playoffs even if they lose this game. A loss in this game, though, will make the next game a must win. If they win both their remaining games, they might even finish in the top two. They too are coming into this game on the back of a loss against the Delhi Capitals.

Jos Buttler, who was in the form of his life in the first half of the season, has not scored consistently in the second half of the season. Captain Sanju Samson too has struggled to get runs.

When Lucknow and Rajasthan met earlier this season, the latter won the down to the wire game. Batting first, RR posted 165 runs on the board with help from an unbeaten half century from Shimron Hetmyer. Later, four wickets from Yuzvendra Chahal helped defend the target as LSG fell short by just three runs

Predicted XI

Lucknow Super Giants – KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Deepak Hooda, Evin Lewis, Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni, Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan

Rajasthan Royals - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Rassie van der Dussen, Riyan Parag, R Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen
