Wooden spooners Mumbai Indians will play the Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 65 of IPL 2022. Mumbai have already been knocked out of the race to the playoffs, while Hyderabad are still hoping to make it against several odds. For them to qualify, not only do they need to win the game against Mumbai, but they also need the result of other teams going their way. If Delhi Capitals win their next game, SRH, KKR, RCB and KXIP will be eliminated.
SRH come into this game on the back of a 54-run loss to KKR, which was their fifth straight loss this season. Their bowlers did a decent job, but nearly all their batsmen disappointed, except young opener Abhishek Sharma who top scored with a knock of 43 runs.
Mumbai, meanwhile, have lost nine games in 12. Young uncapped batsman Tilak Verma is their highest run-scorer this season while all-rounder Daniel Sams is the highest wicket-taker. The big names – Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard have disappointed so far and will be looking to make an impact in the last two league games. Rohit Sharma needs to score 68 more runs to complete 5000 runs for the Mumbai franchise and will be looking to get to the landmark before the season ends. Jasprit Bumrah needs just one more wicket to become the first Indian bowler to take 250 wickets in T20s, a personal feat he will be eyeing in this game.
